This month, we sat with Sara, one of our Customer Service superstars and know to us as “The Oracle”.
Sara has been a part of the Scantek family for just over two and a half years. She is an avid problem solver, a genuine human, and man; can the woman eat!
What is your job title, and what does your job entail?
I am a part of the customer service team. My title is Customer service technician / Team Lead.
My primary role is to improve processes to provide the best possible customer service. This includes anything from technical support to servicing our hardware. I often assist the development team with testing and gathering data to improve our solutions.
What do you like most about your job?
That, I’m constantly learning new things!
It’s a fantastic feeling to see and understand how things work and successfully troubleshoot based on your understanding of the subject.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
It’s okay to say no and put yourself first! Your health and well being come before anything else.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I love to bake, so most likely a baker!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A bit of everything – hiking, photography or being a pseudo mum to my niece.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I love to paint, draw and apply henna. I’m no professional, but I’m good at it, and it’s a fun way for me to relax.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
New Zealand. Don’t ask me if there is a particular spot, because it’s too hard to choose.

Anything made from potatoes.
