Introducing Katherine
It’s been a minute since we’ve had a chance to sit with our amazing tribe in getting to know them a little better!
We managed to steal a moment of Katherine’s time, our operational customer-centric superstar.
Katherine has been a part of the Scantek family for just under a year. She is a lover of a good cuppa, a relentless worker, and an all-round genuine human being!
What is your job title, and what does your job entail?
Operations Manager / Customer Service Team Lead.
Like most Customer Service and Ops roles I’ve had, this includes doing anything and everything.
What do you like most about your job?
There’s always something different going on.
I love that no two days are ever the same, but my favourite days are when I get to share a win with a Client.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Early in my career, I learnt that ‘if it’s not you, then it’s somebody else. It’s a hard pill to swallow.
It doesn’t matter your position or connection; there’s always a possibility that you could be fired or made redundant.
It’s a lot more common than is talked about.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I’d like to be doing the same thing, but somewhere else.
A few times now, I’ve taken a leap of faith (when I’ve achieved everything I wanted to in a job) and left with nowhere to go. It’s always an exciting experience to see where you end up and what other opportunities are out there.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Standup Paddle Boarding, video games, Cooking, Poledancing, Miscellaneous Craft (I tend to get really into a craft thing for a while, but then switch to another craft)
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I worked as a Sommelier for a few years at a fine dining restaurant.
During my time there we won the Gold Plate for Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Western Australia, 2 years in a row.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
Corny, I know, but home, just chilling with my cats.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
“If it was supposed to be easy – everyone would do it”

What is the one thing you can’t live without?
A good cup of tea.
What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you, love?
I am very much not ashamed of this 😛
I very much enjoy the Pacific Rim, Fast and Furious, Godzilla, Birdemic franchises. It’s good fun.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I want Multiple Man’s power. It would really help me in my day to day life as I never feel I have enough time to do everything.
What is one food that you cannot resist?
That’s very difficult. I don’t think I can choose one. I’ve recently been trying to diet, which has just made me realise how much value and happiness food brings to my life!
