Introducing Danielle
Our growth over the past few months has bought with it not only some amazing projects but new teams members as well.
In this month’s Born Identity, we sat with Danielle, one of our newest recruits and got to know her a little better.
Being a part of the Scantek tribe for just over 4 months, Danielle embodies gentleness intertwined with kindness. You will often find her helping out another colleague or exploring new ways to grow Scantek.
Here’s what she had to say about herself.
How long have you worked at Scantek?
Since December 2021 – 4 months
What is your job title and what does your job entail?
Business Development Manager; My role involves engaging with organisations to seek out new business and partnerships for Scantek.
My first project has been to grow our business development team in NSW and Victoria.
What do you like most about your job?
Oh wow – where do I start? I think the first thing that comes to mind is being appreciated for my experience and empowered to make decisions.
The second is being able to immerse myself in a new industry.
The cake topper is being a part of an awesome tribe, getting to meet some wonderful people, learning about their business and how I can help them!
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
You don’t have to know everything to get started!
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I have always had a love for photography. I would start up my own business focussing on corporate photography – portraits and headshots.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Family time is simply the BEST time.
I LOVE hanging out with my 11 yo daughter Lucia and husband Julius. We get to goof off together and enjoy the simplicities in life; Playing UNO, going on bike rides, we even enjoy some competitive play, playing Mario Kart 8!
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
For 10 years, from uni and into my early career I was Usherette at the Perth Entertainment Centre. It was so much fun and never felt like work.
I got to see so many of my favourite bands like INXS, the Perth Wildcats in their heyday and multiple shows of Disney on Ice, Les Miserable and Phantom of the Opera.
I’ve literally seen 100s of concerts and shows and got to meet the cast and crew along the way.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
Ledge Point! It’s my happy place and how lucky am I to live only an hour’s drive away.
I’m there as many weekends and holidays that time can afford!
What is your motto or personal mantra?
“Believe in yourself” Oh and “Anything is possible”
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would love to sit down for a cup of tea or a sneaky gin with Queen Elizabeth.
Forced into a leadership role at 25 – I believe she has lived a fascinating life and think she would have so much to share about her life lessons.
Three words to best describe you
Optimistic, friendly, helpful
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
My mobile phone camera
What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love?
Oh, I’m a sucker for trash TV – especially reality TV. I can never get enough of shows like Married at First Sight.
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
I would love to be able to fly – to feel the freedom of gliding and getting to places with ease.
What is one food that you cannot resist?
I’ve got a sweet tooth – I’ll never say no to a cupcake. Then again I’m a glutton for anything that isn’t good for me!
