We sat with Josh, one of our newest recruits in the Customer Service Team.
His passions include music, AI and Korean Fried chicken. The best way to describe Joshua is a ‘genuine’ nice guy and we consider ourselves lucky to have him apart of the Scantek tribe.
Get to know Joshua a little better in the Born Identity.
How long have you worked at Scantek?
Two months
What is your job title, and what does your job entail?
Customer Service Technician.
I assist customers in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues they may face with their equipment.
Oh, and the occasional disgruntled banned patron.
What do you like most about your job?
Honestly, besides learning something new every day, I really love the people I work with. Everyone at Scantek is willing to help out when they have a chance, even when it isn’t their department.
I love the collaborative culture this place fosters.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
It’s better to finish 100 smaller tasks than waste time on a big task and not finish anything at all.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I actually am in the industry that I’m passionate about.
I’d love to do Machine learning / Ai work.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I make music and invest in random items that I think would be useful but probably aren’t.

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?
I was a florist once upon a time.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
I backpacked around Australia, so I would say the South Coast.
My fondest memories were spent there living in a tent on the beach – so I feel a great affiliation to the Australian Coast.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
This might be a bit much for some people, but “Death Before Dishonour”.
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Three words to best describe you
I can’t think of three, but the one word that comes to mind is “interesting”.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Uber. I use it so much that it is practically an extension of who I am.
Genuinely could not imagine life without it.
What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you, love?
Too hot to handle, I watched the whole season in one sitting.
And I’d do it again!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to manipulate light.
What is one food that you cannot resist?
Fried chicken and Rice (That Korean sticky Rice).
If you have never tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing.
