The Born Identity – Bryce Duncan

Bryce Duncan captures a picture with a beautiful smile.

We sat with Bryce, another recruit in the Customer Service Team.

A nature lover,  Bryce can be described as an outdoorsman. He loves nothing more than being in the Karri Valley, in WA’s amazing South West.

We got to know Bryce a little better in Born Identity.

How long have you worked at Scantek?

Five months – though there’s a joke that goes around the office about one year, at Scantek is more like a “Dog year”.

So really, it’s been almost three years!

What is your job title, and what does your job entail?

I am a Customer Service Technician and Software Developer.

My job ranges from answering the phones and emails – to solving problems and adding new features to Scantek units.

What do you like most about your job?

Great colleagues who are always willing to help. Every day involves a new problem to solve.

That, and the fact that it’s just fun working here.

What is the best career advice you’ve learnt so far?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’ve learnt that a great question is often the fastest path to an answer or a discovery. But so many people fear asking questions.

I say overcome your fear of asking questions, and it will prepare you to ask intelligent questions that will further your career confidently.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Outdoor recreation or education.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Anything outdoors! Hiking, kayaking and cycling mainly. But I am not fussy.

A walk through the bush is good for the soul.

The Karri forests of the South West of WA. It is so peaceful.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Sometimes I like to use big words to sound more photosynthesis.

If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Not really sure; someone like Bill Gates or Linus Torvalds would be interesting.

Three words to best describe you.

Funny, kind and imaginative
